Dutch Oven Bread

Dutch Oven bread is the easiest and most hands off of all the breads. You mix up all ingredients in one bowl, oil the bowl, then leave it to rest overnight and bake the next day. 5 minutes of prep. 50 minutes of baking time.

You will need a Dutch Oven to make Dutch Oven bread.

Dutch Oven Bread

Serving Size:
1 loaf


  • 3 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Tbsp Salt
  • 2 Tsp Yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • oil for bowl


  1. In a large bowl, place flour, alt salt. Wisk together.
  2. add yeast. Wisk together
  3. Add warm water. Mix until combined and dough is beginning to form
  4. Remove dough and oil bowl. Replace dough and rub all sides in oil.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and rest for 8-12 hours.
  6. Preheat oven to 400 F with your Dutch Oven inside. Remove Dutch Oven after the oven reaches temperature.
  7. Place your dough on parchment paper then in the Dutch Oven.
  8. Bake for 40 minutes. with lid on, then 10 minutes with lid off.
  9. Your bread loaf is done when the inside temperature reaches 195 F.
