What is Homemaking?
Homemaking refers to the activities and tasks involved in creating and maintaining a comfortable and functional home environment. A homemaker is someone who focuses on managing the household and its various responsibilities. This can include a wide variety of tasks such as grocery shopping, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, organizing, decorating, managing the household, laundry, caring for children and/or other family members, just to name a few.
I’ve been a homemaker for more than 12 years. So let me be the first to tell you that it’s serious, hard work. It took me a long time to figure out just how to be a homemaker. It’s labor intensive and exhausting but such a rewarding job. Our payment comes in the form of smiles, thank you’s, love and togetherness. And also messes. It’s amazing the messes kids can create!
If you’re here, you’re probably wanting to become a better homemaker. I’m right there with you. I always strive to do better. Sometimes it can be difficult and very stressful to have to do all the things. Homemaking is not taught to you in high school, but it should be. No one knows how to make a home unless otherwise taught. Homemaking is all about taking pride in your home. Decorating, cleaning, upkeep and so much more. It can become overwhelming, but you can do it!
